Mr. Rabbit’s Doll
The screenplay is an adaptation of the English translation of “The Doll behind the Curtain”. It is a short story by one of Iran’s most treasured writers, Sadegh Hadayat. The intention was to take the story away from its cultural context. Mr. Rabbit has limited interactions with others and is isolated in his own world with his one and only companion, the doll. Not having enough self-confidence and the fear as well as the severe longing of being touched by a real being, ends up his chance of being a happy person by a disaster. This adaptation focuses more on the psychological aspects, the inner motives of the character.
