The Inaccessible Minute III
Italo Calvino’s novel “Invisible Cities”, creates cities that do not exist, developing a narrative that tackles a range of issues, ranging from documenting the course of culture, to exploring the limits of communication we can have. The novel narrates stores of imaginary structures that give us a great starting point for exploring the expansions of the cities we live in today can have. The video work series “The Inaccessible Minute” tries to reveal structures that we could not imagine before. One cannot help but think of the multiple, invisible digital structures that have been built around us, structures that are as numerous as the inhabitants of this planet. New Systems offer a world that is partially virtual and partially natural, multiple augmented structural parts of the ordinary physical world around us, with virtual objects that, while interacting closely with us and with each other, maintain their autonomy (individual identity and behavior), blurring the boundaries of the physical world.
