DJ-ing and live mixing becoming physical, choregraphic spatial and tactile. VRDJ is an intuitive, easy-to-play Virtual Reality music performing tool. The musician is positioned in a sphere with 24 loop symbols in all directions. In the ceiling, the master controllers can be found. Shooting at the loops : start/stop. Shooting at FX symbols, “FX-disc” travels up to the hand controller, by tilting and twisting , different values are applied, vibration confirms the action. VRDJ is for webVR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and supports multi player. Programmed and designed by per-Olov Jernberg, music and design by Håkan Lidbo, both from Rumtiden Idea Lab in Stockholm Sweden.

Following a career in electronic music with more than 350 records released, Hakan Lidbo explores new ideas within interactive art, music, robotics, games, urban planning, and design fiction. He is also the founder of Rumtiden Idea Lab in Stockholm Sweden. Per-Olov Jernberg is a multidisciplinary programmer, digital designer and artist. Rumtiden solves present and future problems with new ideas. It’s a collaborative workspace driven by the belief that everything can be re-imagined & re-designed.
