In the past years, new IoT products have been designed for integration into children\u2019s everyday lives, to support them in healthy behavior, safety awareness, their comfort, gaming, and learning. The artists designed a new system, KIDKIT, to provide children with an entirely new experience and to be able to help construct and develop intuitions about wireless communications among different connected components. The KIDKIT system is inspired by nature, colorful, playful and yet carefully designed to feature complex links and interactions between components.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yu ZHANG (CN\/NL)<br \/>\n<\/strong>Dr. Yu Zhang has a background in fine arts and design. Her Ph.D. research investigates the theory and artistic practice of interactive technologies for public, large-scale installations. As a researcher and artist, she approaches visual art with mixed reality installations and projections, sensor-based interactives, and computational arts. In the past five years, Yu Zhang has participated in different Arts Residencies and her work has been exhibited at galleries, museums, and festivals worldwide. Besides, Yu&#8217;s teaching experiences cover a broad space including traditional classrooms, workshops and design-led project-based learning activities.
